I thoroughly enjoyed this video, especially showing the travel from Madrid, and the sights around SJPDP. Looking forward to watching the entire series as I am beginning to plan my Camino for spring or summer of 2025. Very well done and informative.

I've seen people in sleeping bags in bus shelters when they've been too tight to pay for a hostel. Pamplona has a great tapas and night time bar culture you should enjoy it!

Walking down to Orrision the route splits, a steep descent or a longer winding route. I went on the longer route and got to Orisson faster that those of our group that went the short descent. I was warned by a chap that did the walk a year ahead of me that the descent was so steep his toes kept hitting the top of his boots and they ended up blackening and falling off.

A nice informative video for the newbies! Thanks for making and sharing it. I've done the walk up to Orisson and the rest of the Camino in 2016. I too remember that feeling that "Surely we've gone far enough! It's got to round the next corner?" It seems to be far more than the two hours that the signpost says. Having said that Orisson is definitely worth stopping for. I wouldn't like to have to do the full jaunt to Roncesvalles in one hit. The weather over the top can be a real challenge not only in April but at any time of the year. The second part of the ascent is notorious for high winds.

I like the way you foresee & process how the upcoming trip may present itself....challenges, solutions, preventative steps.....alltogether very well planned-detailed....I LIKE IT! CLEVER thinking!!! THAAANK you!

The over the counter ibuprofen here in the US is 200 mg per tablet so keep that in mind when u r doing price comparisons, but yeah, pilgrim pricing for sure.

Were you able to Carry on your backpack on the plane? is it ok to have the things hanging off on the plane or do they not allow. Also, did you pack enough warm clothes for that walk? Thank you so much!

The River Orbigo IS one of the most important in León province, this River goes from north to south and in his path they live 40%of the province population because of the high fertility of the soil, fun fact Suero de Quiñones lived in a Castle in the town of my grandparents(also in León, near La Bañeza)

May I ask a question not quite related to this specific day, but rather to your making the pilgrimage in autumn? Were you free from any bed bug problems, like I was in autumn? Or did you have bed bug problems, as it seems other pilgrims have had, but that could have been in the summer?
